HPD seizes cocaine, cash in traffic stop
The Henderson Police Department Special Operations Division found 1 kilogram of cocaine and $37,000 in cash during a vehicle stop on April 28.
Pedro Guzman Ontiveros, 29, of 3627 Evergreen Trail, Stem, was arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for keeping a controlled substance.
HPD Lt. Alan Hedgepeth said the car was in violation of the state window tint law.
He said Ontiveros was the only person in the car.
Officers located the drugs and money when they stopped Ontiveros’ 2006 Nissan Pathfinder while he was traveling south on Interstate 85 in Henderson.
Ontiveros was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a $250,000 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Vance County District Court on May 9.
Hedgepeth said there are no other suspects believed to be involved at this time.
