All area schools closed Thursday and Vance County Schools announced closure on Friday, with a make-up day on Saturday also wiped out.

At press time, Vance County Schools spokeswoman Terri Hedrick said the district may have six days next week.

“We’ll have to make a decision on that, but it is possible,” Hedrick said.

Kerr-Vance Academy and Vance Charter also closed Thursday on account of the weather, but a decision about Friday had not been made by press time.

Vance Charter Principal Sean Connolly said the school hasn’t decided when the day will be made up.

Vance Charter had two snow days at the end of January, and Connolly said those days will be made up on Feb. 17 and March 28.

Henderson Collegiate closed as well Thursday. The charter school will go on winter break starting today.

Oxford Prep High School, also a charter school, announced in the afternoon Thursday plans to remain closed today.

Thursday evening, Vance-Granville Community College announced all four campus locations are closed on Friday.
