Officers charge 77 with drug, alcohol and traffic violations in two-day campaign

The Henderson Police Department and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency made 77 charges against various individuals for drug, alcohol and traffic violations July 11 and 12.

The purpose of this two-day campaign was to focus on nuisance type open-air alcohol and drug violations.

Officers in unmarked vehicles patrolled the city streets and parking lots.

The following individuals were arrested on more serious charges:

• Michael “White Mike” Allen, 28, of 3829 Raleigh Road, Lot 9, Henderson, was arrested on two counts of possessing heroin with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver and two counts of selling and delivering heroin. Allen was placed in the Vance County Jail on $70,000 secured bond pending a July 21 preliminary hearing.

• Jaquesha Cooper, 22, of 934 Bridges St., Henderson, was arrested on one count of possessing heroin with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver. Cooper was placed in the Vance County Jail on $25,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 21.

• Derrick Antonio Owens, 25, of 93 Pine St., Henderson, was arrested on one count of possessing heroin with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver and one count of possessing marijuana. Owens was placed in the Vance County Jail on $35,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 21.

• Joseph Sherron Owens, 28, of 343 Kirby Lane, Henderson, was arrested on one count of possessing heroin with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver and one count of possessing marijuana. Owens was placed in the Vance County Jail on $35,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 21.

• Shane Kristopher Clark, 27, 829 S. Main Street, Wake Forest, was arrested on one count of possessing heroin. Clark was placed in the Vance County Jail on $10,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 21.
