Fugitive wanted for fraud sought by police

Henderson police are asking for assistance in locating a fugitive charged with fraud, according to a report from Henderson-Vance County Crime Stoppers.

Takirra Hargrove, 24, is wanted on charges of obtaining property by fraud, attempted fraud and larceny. Information can be called in to Det. John Hammond of the Criminal Investigations Division at (252) 438-4141 or (252) 431-6063.

Hargrove’s most recent address was listed at 650 Gun Club Road, Lot 5.

Police are also seeking information from a Sunday evening shooting. The investigation is hoping to uncover if a dark-colored vehicle was involved or if the shooter was on foot.

According to the Crime Stoppers report, Marcel Emmett Welfare said he was walking on Breckenridge Street when someone shot him in the hand. According to police reports, Welfare made it to his home in the 600 block of Breckenridge. He was later treated and released from Duke University Medical Center.
