Henderson police took custody of a Money Gang Mob member Friday, taking him directly from a state prison facility in Franklin County to U.S. Marshals in Raleigh.

According to Lt. Alan Hedgepeth, members of the Special Operations Division transported 26-year-old Jeremiah Patrick Miller from Bunn as soon as he completed serving his sentence for a breaking and entering conviction.

On June 25, Miller received a 10-21 months sentence, with credit for time served after a Jan. 2 felony incident.

Miller carries five prior breaking-and-entering convictions from a series of incidents in 2006 in Vance and Granville counties. A probation violation penalty also is on his record for that year, although no earlier convictions appear on his state prison record.

Miller, noted in prior arrest records as residing at 563 W. Spring St., Henderson, is charged on one count of distributing a quantity of heroin against federal drug laws.

Miller appeared on Friday before Judge James E. Gates in federal court in Raleigh. He is scheduled for a follow-up hearing on Thursday before Gates in order to finalize scheduling matters in preparation for an arraignment hearing.

Arraignment is set for Feb. 18 in Wilmington before Senior U.S. Judge James C. Fox, at which time Miller is expected to have an appointed attorney for his case who has conducted a pretrial conference on or before Jan. 17.

Miller continues to be held in federal custody on a detention motion pending further hearings on bond.

According to a federal indictment filed for the case, Miller, also known as “Germ” and “Brick,” intentionally distributed heroin locally on March 22, 2012. Details of the alleged trade and how evidence was gathered against him were not included in the indictment narrative.

U.S. Attorney Rudy Renfer, assisted by U.S. Attorney Tobin W. Lathan, represent the prosecution of the case.

MGM has been the target of an investigation that to date has accumulated 14 sentences for 144 years and two months in federal prisons.
