Floyd Lamont Springs has been arrested and jailed, according to the Vance County Sheriff’s Office.

Springs, 42, of 622 Highland Ave., faces charges of opium trafficking, possession of opiates for sale and maintaining a dwelling for drug trafficking. Bond was set at $115,000 and a Vance County District Court date is set for Jan. 27.

Springs’ home was searched after an investigation and undercover operation involving controlled purchases. The home had been subject of complaints to law enforcement.

Deputies seized assorted opiate-based prescription pills. Some had another man’s name on the bottle. Currency seized matched serial numbers from the controlled purchase.

Superior Court officials confirmed that search warrant request forms were filed in advance of the search. The proof of service for the warrant to search came back for release to the public on Friday.
