Undercover operation targets heroin activity

Jonathan Arthur Brodie has been arrested by Henderson police and is facing drug charges.

Brodie, of 208 Gillburg Estates Court in Henderson, is charged with two counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin; selling and or delivering heroin; trafficking opium or heroin; selling and or delivering cocaine; selling or delivering a Schedule III substance.

Brodie was jailed in Vance County on Thursday, with secured bond set at $100,000. His preliminary hearing in Vance County District Court is Feb. 10.

Brodie, 35, was caught in an undercover operation involving officers from other jurisdictions. The investigation, carried out by the Special Operations Division, targeted street level sales of narcotics.

Police were made aware of the activity by concerned citizens, according to a statement from the police department.
