A youth committed through the juvenile justice system to the custody of the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice and placed at Just in Time Youth Services, a group home in Burlington, has failed to return from home leave.

Markest F. failed to return Thursday from home leave at 424 Granville St. in Oxford. The division has notified local law enforcement and is cooperating fully with the investigation, according to a press release.

Due to the unpredictability of juvenile behavior during an escape, division officials said they have a high degree of concern for the safety of both the juvenile and the public.

Members of the public should report any sightings of this juvenile to local law enforcement officials. Residents can call the Oxford Police department at (919) 693-3162, the Granville County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 693-3213 or 911 should they see Markest F.
