Plea deal expected for BP robbery suspect
A Vance County prosecutor said Tuesday that her office anticipates a plea deal will be made for the 22-year-old Henderson resident charged with robbing a store clerk in March.
Dontrell Jaquan Hargrove, of 464 Skenes Ave., is one of three defendants charged in the death of Ahmed Shahit, 55, who was killed during the robbery.
Hargrove faces charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
Assistant District Attorney Allison Capps said there could be a deal once the state has gathered all the evidence related to Hargrove’s case.
“We are not in a position to do that at this particular time,” she said.
Hargrove is represented by Nick Bagshawe.
Dontrell Hargrove’s brother — Marvin Hargrove Jr. — and Diaquan Waddell have been charged with first-degree murder in connection to Shahit’s death.
Waddell, 18, is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
