Few file on day two

Day two of the filing period for the 2014 elections was less active than Monday.

Democratic incumbent Rep. G.K. Butterfield filed Tuesday to hold onto his District 1 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Cary Democrat Brenda Cleary filed Monday for the District 13 seat in the House of Representatives. U.S. Rep. George Holding is the incumbent.

At the state level, Republican Richard Scott is seeking the District 4 state Senate seat currently held by Democrat Angela Bryant.

Republican Larry Yarborough, of Roxboro, filed for the state House of Representatives District 2 seat held by Democrat Winkie Wilkins, who has announced he will not run for re-election.

In Warren County, no one filed. No reports were received by press time from Vance or Granville counties on Tuesday.
