Sheriff’s office seeking identification assistance

Deputies with the Vance County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two suspects connected to a robbery at the Raleigh Road Convenience Mart on Tuesday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, two unidentified black males wearing masks robbed the store at gunpoint about 9:50 p.m.

Sixteen packs of Newport cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money were taken during the robbery.

No injuries were reported during the incident. The suspects fled on foot down Belmont Drive.

A K-9 unit track led Vance County deputies to the intersection of Francis Avenue and Belmont Drive where the track ended.
