Two from Maryland arrested on heroin charges

Henderson police followed up on a reported attempt to get prescription drugs using forged instruments at a local CVS pharmacy Wednesday and arrested a Baltimore, Md., couple on forgery and heroin trafficking charges.

Robert Lee Langston Jr., 40, and Rachelle M. Bonds, 41, are facing charges of heroin trafficking, conspiracy and attempted forgery for getting prescription drugs.

Police jailed Bonds on $100,000 bond pending a hearing in Vance County District Court scheduled for April 22.

Langston is additionally charged with uttering a forged instrument, having controlled substances in jail, having 81 bindles of heroin for sale and a second heroin or opium trafficking count.

He remained jailed on $200,000 bond after first posting a lower bond amount, pending a court hearing scheduled for April 22.

Police impounded a gray 2011 Hyundai Elantra in connection to the case, making the arrest in the 100 block of Cedarwood Drive after the incident reported at the nearby CVS store at about 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
