Vance deputies probe armed robbery of firearms
The Vance County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Saturday morning report of armed robbery in which two assailants held a couple up at gunpoint on Hight Street and took their firearms.
According to Sheriff Peter White, deputies responded to the scene in the 1200 block of Hight, finding a red 2007 Chevrolet Impala run into a ditch.
A man told deputies that two assailants approached, White said. At least one had a firearm of some sort, according to an incident report filed for the case.
“It is under investigation,” White said. “We have no suspects, no suspect descriptions at this time.”
White said that the man reporting the incident told deputies the assailants got away on foot. The incident report notes three firearms were taken. No shots were fired, and there were no injuries.
