Police arrest one for gunshot inside Henderson hospital

Henderson police have made an arrest in connection to a gunshot fired at Maria Parham Medical Center Thursday evening.

Police did not name the man taken into custody, but did say he faces a charge of discharging a firearm into an occupied building.

According to a police statement from Lt. Christopher Ball, police were “conducting security of a mental patient” when they heard a gunshot. The shot was heard from a restroom in the emergency room area.

Police said the man was a visitor of a patient in the emergency room.
