According to incident reports from the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, two armed robberies took place Saturday at convenience stores near Henderson.

These occurred in addition to five armed robberies reported by Henderson police since Friday in the city.

Incident reports indicate the robberies were carried out by more than one assailant at the Raleigh Road Convenient Store, at 2406 Raleigh Road, and at the BP station at 2868 N.C. 39 South.

The Raleigh Road robbery involved numerous firearms, with one or more assailants pointing a gun at a store clerk while demanding money.

An employee of the store reported the incident to deputies at shortly past 7 p.m.

A few hours later, two employees were on duty at the BP station when it was robbed. One of the firearms used in that incident was a shotgun, according to the sheriff’s report.

Both cases are under investigation.
