All is quiet in Monday filings

The second day of filing for municipal elections in the Tri-County was quiet.

Faye Gill, director of elections in Vance County, said no filings were recorded. There were no reports of filings in the Granville County municipalities of Oxford or Stovall as well.

Warren County also did not report any filings.

The filing period is open daily at each respective board of election office until noon on Friday, July 19.

In Henderson, candidates can file for at-large Ward 1, at-large Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 4. In Kittrell, seats for mayor and three town commissioners are available. In Middleburg, seats for mayor and three members of the town council are available.

In Oxford, the races for mayor and four commissioners seats. In Stovall, the races for mayor and two commissioners.

In Warrenton, seats for mayor and three of seven commissioners’ seats are on the ballot. In Norlina and Macon, each will elect a mayor and five commissioners.
