Two men wanted by Henderson police are in custody headed to the U.S. Marshals Service for trail in a federal court.

Dwight Gooding, also known as “D-Black,” and Tyrone Yancey, also known as “Whoadi,” were taken into custody with the help of Virginia law enforcement. Henderson police announced their arrests on Monday.

Gooding, 24, formerly of 433 Winder St., is in a Virginia jail awaiting extradition back to North Carolina. Gooding faces charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin and two counts of heroin distribution.

Yancey, 32, of 815 Beckford Drive, is in Vance County Jail without bond on two heroin distribution charges.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into “violent crime and the sale and distribution of heroin,” according to Lt. Alan Hedgepeth of the Henderson police.

Henderson police were joined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the investigation.
