Police probe Christmas Day armed robbery

Henderson police are investigating an armed robbery from the early morning hours of Christmas Day.

Police confirm a 31-year-old man told them assailants pointed multiple guns at him in the 1000 block of Champion Street. He was robbed of a $10 cellphone.

In another incident, not confirmed to be related, police are following leads on the armed robbery of a 39-year-old man on Daniel Street. The man told police the robbers had a rifle.

The incident happened about 9:40 a.m. Monday morning. The victim told police his wallet, keys, cellphone and a hoodie coat were taken.

The two incidents bring to five the number of armed robberies being investigated by police since Friday night. No arrests have been made.

Police are also investigating armed robberies from the weekend that happened at the New Dixie Mart on Dabney Drive late Friday night, at Cruizers on Dabney Drive early Saturday morning and at The Waffle House on Andrews Avenue early Monday morning.

Henderson police are asking anyone with information on any crime to call the police department at (252) 438-4141 or to call Crime Stoppers at (252) 492-1925. Crime Stoppers does not a require informants to give a name. Information leading to arrests can earn a reward of up to $2,000.
