Small, private plane lands short of NC runway
CHARLOTTE — Two people walked away from a small, private plane that came down short of the runway at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
A statement from the airport said the two people aboard the single-engine plane suffered minor injuries after the plane came down at around 1:41 p.m. Friday.
The statement said operations at the airport were not affected by the crash and that all runways were open Friday afternoon. A road near the airport was closed for two hours as emergency crews applied foam to the plane.
Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration were on the scene investigating the incident.
