Narcotics seized following investigation
Douglas Wayne Driver of Raleigh was taken into custody Wednesday by Henderson police and federal investigators, charged with drug trafficking.
According to Lt. Alan Hedgepeth, Driver was in possession of 2.1 kilograms the narcotic substance methylene-dioxy-methamphetamine, or MDMA. The drug is known on the street as “Molly” or “Exctasy” and Driver’s amount had an estimated street value of $100,000.
Driver failed to post a $250,000 bond for release from Vance County Jail, where he remained pending a District Court hearing scheduled for Sept. 3.
The Special Operations Division of the Henderson Police Department and inspectors with the U.S. Postal Service worked jointly in the investigation.
