Charges filed for marijuana plants operation
OXFORD — Steve Roque of Raleigh has been arrested and charged following the discovery and seizure of 143 marijuana plants.
Granville County sheriff’s deputies and officers with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission conducted a raid at 6608 Zachary Lane in Oxford on Sunday, Nov. 3. Plants in growth bins, being tended with fans and special lighting, were cut down and weighed about 80 pounds, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
The street value was assessed at $320,000.
Roque, 33, faces charges of two counts of marijuana trafficking and one count each of felony manufacturing of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for drug trafficking and misdemeanor possession of items for possible drug use.
Roque’s bond was set at $50,000. He has a District Court date in Granville County on Nov. 25.
