Police charge 14-year-old with trafficking heroin
A 14-year-old has been arrested on a heroin trafficking charge, Henderson police said Friday.
Lt. Alan Hedgepeth did not release the juvenile’s name. The arrest was made Wednesday on a juvenile petition against the 14-year-old male.
According to Hedgepeth, officers with the Special Operations Division had been conducting operations around the area of Gate City Foods on West Andrews Avenue when the juvenile approached an undercover officer.
The juvenile attempted to sell an unstated quantity of heroin to that officer, Hedgepeth added.
Hedgepeth indicated officers took the juvenile into “secure custody” for any appropriate charge by juvenile petition, naming a count of possessing heroin for sale as at least one charge against the teenager.
