Arrest made in connection to Thursday shooting

Henderson police said Friday they have made an arrest in the Thursday afternoon shooting on Dabney Drive.

Jamie Terry, a 21-year-old listed with a 615 Vaughn Street address in Henderson, was detained by police fleeing the scene. He has since been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon in addition to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Lt. Christopher Ball confirmed the arrest Friday afternoon. Ball said Terry was jailed with a $100,000 secured bond.

Terry is accused of shooting 26-year-old Tyrone Johnson at the Valero at 555 Dabney Drive. When police arrived, Terry was trying to leave. Johnson was taken to Maria Parham Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot would to the foot.

Ball said the incident remains under investigation.
