Officers seize drugs, guns, cash in trafficking arrest

The Vance County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Henderson Police Department’s Special Operations Division found cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines, firearms and more than $11,000 during a search of a South Clearview Drive home on April 29.

Thomas Morales Rodriguez, 46, of 1836 S. Clearview Drive, Henderson, was arrested on charges of trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling to keep and sell controlled substances, and manufacture of a controlled substance.

Officers seized 438 grams of cocaine, 133 grams of heroin, 62 grams of methamphetamines, $11,240 in U.S. currency, a .38-caliber 1911 model Colt semi-automatic pistol, and a Remington Model 700 7 mm rifle.

Rodriguez received a secured bond of $1 million and a May 14 court date.

The investigation was aided by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
