Rape, kidnapping charges filed
Daquan Foster was arrested Thursday and faces multiple charges connected to a sexual assault from earlier that afternoon.
The 20-year-old Foster received a $130,000 secured bond pending his first court appearance. He faces charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.
According to Lt. Chris Ball, Henderson police arrested Foster at a 1502 Parham Street residence. Foster’s address is listed as 63 Lynnbank Estates Road, according to a police statement about the incident.
Shortly before 2:30 Thursday afternoon, a 50-year-old woman said she was forcibly removed from the street while walking on Young Avenue. She said the suspect had a handgun and sexually assaulted her.
Police were dispatched to the area near Thomas Street. Crime scene tape was up at a culvert on both sides of Young Street while police were on the scene.
Shortly thereafter, police were able to locate Foster and make the arrest.
Ball confirmed the woman was able to get help when a passerby called 911.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries was not released.
In conducting a search warrant at the Parham Street location where Foster was arrested, numerous items were collected as evidence, including a handgun. Foster’s photograph was not released to protect the integrity of ongoing investigations.
Police confirmed the incident remains under investigation and has not yet been linked to any other crimes. Police and sheriff’s deputies each responded to sexual assaults Feb. 14, and no arrests have been made in either case.
