Student transfer policy revised

Mar. 16, 2013 @ 10:51 AM

The Vance County Board of Education approved revisions to an assignment of students to schools policy during Monday night’s board meeting.

The revised policy will no longer allow out of county releases to be processed or approved by the board beginning with the 2013-2014 school year.

Exceptions will include out of county transfer requests from parents employed by the school system of request.

The policy continues to state that students from out of county schools will not be accepted by the local board of education, with the exception of children of Vance County Schools’ employees.

Employees must complete an out-of-county transfer form to be approved by the board yearly. The school board will determine the assigned school based on the employee’s job site.

Tuition is not charged for out of county students who are children of school system employees.
