Last days here for holiday toy drive

Brewer Cycles in Henderson is hosting a toy drive to collect Christmas presents for seven children at Blessed Trinity Ministries in Henderson.

Today marks the official last day of the drive; however, toy donations will be accepted throughout the week.

“We definitely wanted to find some children that really needed them,” said Tammy Rainey, an employee at Brewer Cycles who works with a member of Blessed Trinity Ministries. “They go to his church, so we can keep it up as needed.”

Currently Brewer Cycles has collected four boxes of toys, mostly for babies, and children ages 3 and 4.

“We need older toys,” Rainey said. “There’s a lot of baby toys.

“We’ve got one girl that’s 6 years old.”

This is the first year for the toy drive at Brewer Cycles, which was inspired by owner, Chris Brewer.

Given the success of the toy drive, Brewer Cycles plans to take additional toys to Maria Parham Medical Center and Granville Medical Center.
