Filing period opening in Vance County on Friday at noon
Municipal elections filing is scheduled to begin at noon on Friday across the state, and elections offices in the Vance, Granville and Warren counties are ready.
The period opens at noon on Friday and will close on Friday, July 19, at noon for each of the three counties. (See more information on Page A3).
In Vance County, elections are scheduled for Henderson, Kittrell and Middleburg.
Henderson’s election is scheduled for Oct. 8. Voters in Kittrell and Middleburg will cast ballots Nov. 5.
Filing takes place at the Board of Elections office at 300 South Garnett Street in Henderson. The first day’s filing hours are from noon until 5 p.m.
On Monday through Friday, July 8-12, hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., including through the lunch hour. On Monday through Thursday, July 15-18, hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., including through the lunch hour.
On the final day, Friday July 19, hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Residents in Henderson will be electing representatives for at-large Ward 1, at-large Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 4. Those incumbents are, respectively, Sara Coffey, Mike Inscoe, Garry Daeke and Vernon Brown.
In Kittrell, seats for the mayor and three town commissioners will be on the ballot. The incumbents are mayor Jerry Joyner and commissioners Betsy Simpson, Susan Pulley and Jack Ball.
In Middleburg, seats for the mayor and three members of the town council are on the ballot. The incumbents are mayor Ray Bullock and commissioners Annie Fudge, Ruth Nance and Gary Plummer.
