Oasis of Hope holds community day
Oasis of Hope Ministries held a community day Aug. 2 as part of the ministry’s Community Connection Through Service Project.
Turning Point Community Development, under the leadership of Dr. Chandra Sledge and Chalis Sledge, served as sponsor.
At the event, complimentary haircuts were given by Cuttz by Cuz. Granville-Vance Home Health Agency provided blood pressure checks and health information.
North Carolina Central University shared college preparation information, and Cardinal Innovations Health Care Solutions spoke to attendees about its services. The Vance County Fire Department presented educational demonstrations.
Music was provided by the Henderson Brothers.
There were also free hot dog meals, activities, prize packages and fun stations.
Annie Perry of the Smart Start Adolescent Parenting Program was honored with a monetary donation and gifts.
