Free disaster preparedness seminar for small businesses
The Small Business Center at Vance-Granville Community College will present a free seminar on disaster preparedness, called “Ready Business,” on Oct. 16.
The seminar will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin County campus in room 401.
Rachel Monteverdi, a family and consumer sciences agent for the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office, will be the instructor.
She will provide information on business continuity, disaster risks and disaster planning.
Attending small business owners will begin writing disaster plans for their businesses.
The center is presenting the seminar in partnership with the Extension Disaster Education Network, N.C. State University, Franklin County Emergency Management and other government agencies.
There is a limit of 25 in the seminar. Lunch will be provided.
