SEMAA holds awards program

The Warren County NASA Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy recently held an awards day program for its 2014 winter and spring academic session.

Receiving the perfect attendance award were kindergartners Juniper Cummings, Kierra Talley, Autumn Miller and Ben Christy; first-graders Brooklyn Baker, Brian Kruse, Jackson Whitley and Jordan Eaton; second-grader Rahanna Talley; third-graders Andrew Howard and Ben Miller; fourth-grader Emma Whitley; and sixth-graders Chad Whitley, Tyler Howard and Lauren Jones.

The Outstanding SEMAA Student Awards went to kindergartners Angel Talley, Juniper Cummings, Autumn Miller and Kierra Talley; first-graders Brooklyn Baker, Jackson Whitley and Jordan Eaton; second-graders Timothy Garen and Rahanna Talley; third-graders Andrew Howard and Ben Miller; and sixth-graders Matthew Freeman and Chad Whitley.

The Award of Excellence Medals for the session went to Ben Christy for kindergarten, Brian Kruse for first grade, Emma Whitley for fourth grade and Lauren Jones for sixth grade.

The academy has served students from Warren County and surrounding areas since 1999. It was established to introduce under-served students in kindergarten through grade 12 to fields in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
