Franklin-Granville-Vance Smart Start recently recognized April as Child Abuse Prevention Month with a pinwheel garden in front of its Charles Rollins Road office. Children from Little Troopers Child Development (front) assisted with the planting. Joining them were (back, from left) Little Troopers owner Sheril Scott; Vanessa Henderson, Carolyn Paylor, Heath Haithcock, Wanda Hunt, Elvia Boad and Katrina Boone of Smart Start; Little Troopers teacher Regina Hawkins; and Annie Perry of Smart Start. The children also visited the child care resource library, played the Smart Start corn hole board game and ate ice cream and cookies.
