Tour De Vance to be April 26
United Way of Vance County will hold its second Tour De Vance Bike Ride on April 26.
The event will offer 10-, 20- and 30-mile bike rides for adults.
There will also be two on-campus events for children — a Squeals On Wheels event for children ages 2 to 5 years old, hosted by the Girl Scouts, and a Bike Rodeo for kids ages 6 to 11, hosted by the Henderson Optimist Club. Participants in the children’s events will compete for trophies, ribbons and a new bike.
The cost of registration for the adult 30- and 60-mile rides is $40 per person. Registration for the 10-mile ride is $10 per person or $30 for a group of four.
The cost of registration for the children’s events is $3 per person.
Early registration is available online at BikeReg.com. Those registering online before 11:59 p.m. April 22 will receive a free T-shirt.
On the day of the race, on-site registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the United Way of Vance County.
In case of inclement weather, the race will be canceled with no refunds.
