Sessions for boating safety course scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday

An approved boating safety course, “About Boating Safely,” will be taught in two sessions, Wednesday and Thursday, from 6-10 p.m. each night. Anyone under the age of 26 who wishes to operate a boat jet skis must attend these sessions.

Taught between two 4-hour sessions, this class will cover eight topics of discussion. This course has been approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators: it will meet the requirements of the new N.C. Boating Law G.S. 75A-16.2.

The sessions, offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Kerr Lake Flotilla, will take place at the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce, 414 S. Garnett St., Henderson. Each attendee must pay $20 to take the course. Those who successfully complete the course will be issued a certificate card.
