Students who plan to apply for college scholarships by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid can receive assistance Saturday at Vance-Granville Community College.

College financial aid officers and other volunteers will be available from 9 a.m. until noon to help North Carolina high school seniors and their families in completing the application.

This application is the standard form required for federal and state need-based aid and for many other scholarships and grants. High school seniors who plan to attend any college during the 2013-2014 academic year are encouraged to attend. FAFSA Day is cosponsored by the College Foundation of North Carolina, North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and the State Employees’ Credit Union. Last year, more than 4,700 students and families received help at hundreds of locations across the state.

The college will hold the workshop on the second floor of Building 7 at the main campus in Vance County.

Registration in advance is strongly encouraged. Students can learn more about FAFSA Day, what to bring and how to register by visiting cfnc.org/fafsaday or by calling toll free 866-866-CFNC.
