UNC-CH vice provost for diversity to speak at Snow Hill Baptist

The Rev. Dr. A. F. Horton, pastor at Snow Hill Baptist Church, is announcing that a Black History Sunday Worship Service will take place this Sunday, at 11:15 a.m.

Dr. Taffye Benson-Clayton, vice provost for diversity and multicultural affairs, and chief diversity officer for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has been invited to speak for this occasion. She also serves the university as an assistant professor of clinical education.

Born to Command Sergeant Major James Benson and Patricia Benson, she was raised in Fayetteville. Foregoing her high school choral group, she performed in choirs at Mount Sinai Baptist Church and Lewis Chapel Baptist Church.

She holds an undergraduate degree in speech communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a graduate degree in Arts Administration from American University in Washington and a doctorate in Education from East Carolina University in Greenville. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is married to Reuben Clayton: together, they have two children.
