Vance-Granville Community College drama students’ production of John Cariani’s comedy, “Almost, Maine,” will run through Sunday. Performances, which will take place in the small auditorium in Building 2 on the college’s Main Campus in Henderson, are scheduled for today, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The story takes place in a remote, mythical town called Almost whose residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways one night in the middle of winter.
The cast includes students Spencer Nunn of Warrenton; Rachel Pottern of Wake Forest; Joy Chalmers and Cody Trivette, both of Oxford; Cameron Kester of Bullock; Jennie Robinson and Bruce Hayes, both of Henderson; and Courtney Mitchell of Franklinton. Directing the play is Betsy Henderson, the college’s theatre arts/speech instructor and department head for Humanities and Fine Arts.
Tickets — $5 for students, faculty and staff, and seniors; and $10 for the general public — may be purchased at the door. However, attendees are encouraged to making reservations by contacting Betsy Henderson at (252) 738-3371 or hendersonb@vgcc.edu.
