Imagination Library enrollment Aug. 8

Aug. 01, 2014 @ 09:20 AM

Franklin-Granville Vance Smart Start, with funding from the Vance County United Way, will enroll children for free in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at Perry Memorial Library from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 8.

Children enrolled in the Imagination Library will have an age-appropriate book each month mailed to them at their home.

The program strives to encourage reading to and with children, as well as helping children build a personal library.

Children can be enrolled as early as one month old, with books mailed once per month until they are 5 years old.

The first book for each child is “The Little Engine That Could,” and the last book in the 60-book series is “Kindergarten, Here I Come!”
