Gamma Chi Chapter meets, Wray speaks
N.C. Rep. Michael Wray attended a recent meeting of the Warren County Gamma Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
The meeting was held at Enterprise Baptist Church in Littleton.
Wray delivered a speech on education in North Carolina.
Nancy Tunstall, chapter president, presented a token of appreciation to Wray for attending the meeting.
Tracey Neal was initiated as a new member. Heidi Hogan received initiation prior to the meeting.
A moment of silence was held for Betsy Brown, a member who recently passed away.
Laura Kearney was recognized for her retirement.
Tunstall announced the chapter’s participation in a new mentoring project held by the state and members filled out a questionnaire for the project.
Dr. Janis Meek, chairman of the awards committee, recognized members for “milestones in membership.”
Ten members received the Gamma Chi Member Excellence Award.
Those who had perfect attendance at last year’s meetings were also recognized.
After the presentation of awards, the business session was held.
The meeting ended with a raffle to support Warren Memorial Library, Norlina Library and Littleton Library.
