Kittrell Job Corps celebrates Universal Safety Month
Kittrell Job Corps Center recently held several activities celebrating Universal Safety Month.
Job Corps Career Technical Trade Instructors hosted a safety demonstration and presented in their trade areas.
Students and staff attend a community universal safety event at the Kittrell Fire Department. Fire Chief Lawrence Pulley and staff provided a fire safety presentation demonstration showing the proper usage of a fire extinguisher.
Lt. Irvin Robinson and Craig Thorpe, Crime Prevention Officer with the Henderson Police Department attended Kittrell Job Corps Center Student Business meeting to provide a safety presentation as one of Kittrell Universal Safety activities. Information was provided on Identity Theft, Drugs, Gangs & Bullying.
Also, Captain Bryant Williams, of Vance County Emergency Services, along with members of the Kittrell volunteer Fire Department, put on a driving safey program for teens. Speeding, distracted driving, drinking and driving and seatbelt usage were all covered.
