Scam Jam slated for April 11

A Scam Jam to educate the public on identity theft, fraud and various scams will be held April 11 at First Presbyterian Church in Henderson.

Information will be given on common techniques con artists use to commit crimes such as investment fraud, charity fraud, identity theft and Social Security and Medicare scams.

Speakers will hail from the N.C. Attorney General's Office, the N.C. Secretary of State’s Office, the Department of Insurance, Social Security Administration and local law enforcement.

The event will begin 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
