Herbs the focus at Woodland Garden Club meeting
The Woodland Garden Club recently held its April meeting at Ribeye’s, with Virginia Norwood serving as hostess.
The meeting was called to order by club president Vivian McIntyre.
Jean Capstaff was welcomed as a new member of the club.
Betty Ayscue, program chairwoman, presented a program on herbs. She introduced Chris Fisher, owner of Henderson Fruit & Produce, who had prepared an herb recipe for club members to taste.
Each member present gave a report on an herb and shared a recipe.
Ayscue included the horticulture report in her presentation.
A drawing was held for herbs to take home.
Following the meeting, members ate lunch at Ribeye’s.
The Woodland Youth Garden Club held its April meeting at Dabney Elementary School, with Trudy Tidwell in charge. Tidwell presented a program on butterflies and plants that will attract them.
