Nursing Home Week events continue at Henderson facility

Kerr Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Henderson is celebrating National Nursing Home Week through Friday. This year’s theme is “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”

Activities began Sunday. The remaining schedule is as follows:

• Today — 10:30 a.m., Word Game; 6 p.m., Family Cook Out (will take place in the lower courtyard); 6:30 p.m., Program on Dementia/Behaviors (to take place in the Williamsboro Wayside Dining Room)

• Wednesday — 10:30 a.m., devotions; 3 p.m., arts and crafts

• Thursday — 10 a.m.-noon, manicures; 3 p.m., residents will participate in Resident Right Bingo

• Friday — 10 a.m.-noon and 2-3 p.m., the facility will conduct a mini health fair (attractions will include blood pressure and blood sugar checks; recipes for healthy eating; displays and handouts concerning stroke awareness, heart health, dementia, diabetes and cancer precautions) in the Glass House Dining Room; 10:30 a.m., Let’s Get Fit activity; 3 p.m., watermelon party.

The public is invited to attend all activities. The facility is located at 1245 Park Ave.
