‘White Chicks’ opens today at Lakeland Cabaret
Starting today, Lakeland Theatre Company will present the two-character comedy, “A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking,” over the course of six dates, in the Lakeland Cabaret theater, 411 Mosby Ave., Littleton.
Set in a suburban Westchester County, N.Y., kitchen, Maude Mix is having a rough day. Her husband and his secretary have left for a weekend spree. Meanwhile, a pesky neighbor, Hannah Mae Bindler, has just moved there from Texas. However, they soon form a friendship, eventually joining forces against their erring husbands.
The play will be directed by Susan King.
All appropriate discounts will be available for tickets (at $15 each). Tickets are available online at lakelandtheatrenc.org, on Facebook, or by calling (252) 586-3124. Performances are scheduled for May 10-11 and 17-18, at 8 p.m. nightly; matinées are set for May 12 and 19, at 2:30 p.m. daily.
Doors will open an hour before the show: a pasta bar ($8 per person), prepared by Tony Petrucci, resident chef, (pasta, salad and several home-made sauces) will be available.
