South Granville High School stage for recent band clinic

Members of the bands from Eaton-Johnson (14 students) and Henderson (eight) middle schools and Northern Vance (seven) and Southern Vance (11) high schools took part in the Tri-County Honors Band clinic and concert at South Granville High School in Granville County on Feb. 28 and March 1. Each was recognized for their musical talents.

Kendall Grissom (Southern Vance), seated at first chair on alto saxophone, and Emily Wilkins, (Southern Vance), first chair-clarinet, for the concert, were recognized as the best among all band members on their respective instruments.

The directors and student names from each school are as follows:

• Eaton-Johnson (Jason Pulley) — Keana Baskerville, Tamiya Davis, Hunter Dement, Malcolm Elam, Danielle Hargrove, Johnathan Harris, Laquad Holden, Emily Howarth, Stephon Sample, Bailey Shelton, Evan Stinson, Mackenzie Terry, Juan Uribe and Noah Whittacre.

• Henderson Middle (Trevor Rorie) — Danielle Ferens, Levi Shelton, Michael Spinner, Annabelle Webb, Sherie Whitfield, Quinzell Wormley and Sierra Yount.

• Southern Vance (Kevin Davis) — Nigoria Alston, Dominique Anderson, Brielle Barrow, Shannon Briles, Ayzha Burwell, Grissom, Kendall Grissom, Maya Kearney, Kristen Lawrence, Wilkins and Justin Williford.

• Northern Vance (Pulley) — Danielle Ferens, Levi Shelton, Michael Spinner, Annabelle Webb, Sherie Whitfield, Quinzell Wormley and Sierra Yount.
