Tea-rrific program during Daisy Garden Club meeting
Velma Steed and her daughter, Shyvonne S. Foster, hosted the March meeting of the Daisy Garden Club.
They adorned the living room table with arrangements of yellow and red tulips placed in a teapot.
Hare followed her leading of the group devotion with a reading from the book, “The Reason for Flowers,” by Ruth Heller. Flowers produce seeds, plants and food. Products made from flowers — perfume, paper, flour, bread, etc. — were distributed to attendees. She then offered a prayer.
Committee reports and correspondences were given, followed by the Daisette Youth report from Vivian Bullock.
Shyvonne Foster of Durham presented a program entitled “Using Flowers for Tea Parties.” After sharing some of her experiences involving tea parties, she discussed two flower arrangements she created: one using a teapot and the other placed in a teacup. Then she discussed the book, “Tea with Friends,” by Elizabeth Knight.
The business session was conducted by Barbara Carroll, club president, followed by the blessing of the food by Delores Green. Members sang “Happy Birthday” to Bullock. Then, Naomi Dixon thanked the hostesses.
