Membership campaign underway for 2013-14 concert series
As the season membership campaign for the 2013-2014 Henderson Community Concert Series begins, the Henderson Community Concert Association announces that five live performances have been scheduled.
In an effort to encourage attendance by area children, families are invited to come out for these family-friendly events. In addition, season ticket buyers may purchase an extra student ticket at only $10 more.
This year’s series will open with clarinetist Hal Linden, former star of the Barney Miller television series. Rounding out the schedule will be:
• Umi Garrett, 12-year-old piano prodigy
• The North Carolina Symphony, performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony (w/additional outreach performance)
• AudioBody - comedic and musical electronic duo (w/additional outreach performance); and
• The New York Theatre Ballet
All concerts will be held in the civic center auditorium at Vance-Granville Community College.
Season ticket prices are as follows: $45 for adults; $10 for youth; and $100 for families (two adults and all children in the family, including full-time college students). Tickets to individual concerts will not be available.
Any association member who signs up three new members for the upcoming season will get his/her general membership for free; if they sign up two new members, he/she will receive their membership for half price. For more information and a form, call (919) 693-3721 or (252) 492-4585.
Over the next few weeks, volunteers will be making personal contacts for new and renewal memberships; for more information, call (252) 492-1726.
Special Contributors help fund student outreach performances. A “Special Contributors” booklet will be inserted into programs at each concert. These contributors will be recognized for their gifts in an announcement based on the size of the gift. To inquire about making a special contribution, call (252) 492-4585.
