The public has been invited to attend any of the scheduled community tours of the Granville Medical Center Emergency Department as part of a pre-grand opening.

Anyone interested may catch a sneak peek of the facility either today or between Tuesday and Friday, from 9-11 a.m. daily. Additional hours are available Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:30-7 p.m. each day. Light refreshments will be served.

The size of the facility has been increased from 3,135 to 18,000 sq. ft. It now includes four private observations rooms, 12 private exam rooms, two private trauma rooms and a new vending area. The waiting room has been expanded and the restrooms are larger and more family-friendly. Additional patient and visitor parking are now available as well.

Upon opening, Wake Emergency Physicians will deliver care to patients and the TeleStroke program will provide enhanced in-house care for stroke victims.

The new emergency department is located at 1010 College St., Oxford. To make a tour reservation, call (919) 690-3238.
