College offers home care aide course
Vance-Granville Community College is set to offer its first home care aide training course starting May 27 at the college’s Warren County campus.
Classes will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., concluding June 24.
Training will focus on skills needed when providing in-home care. Topics will include person-centered care, nutrition, hydration, patient and personal safety, mental health, dementia, behavioral challenges, pain management, palliative care and stress management.
The cost of the course is $184.
To register, students must be currently listed on the N.C. Nurse Aide Registry and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
