The Daisy Garden Club recently held its March meeting in the home of Velma Steed

Steed and her daughter, Shyvonne Foster, served as hostesses.

Edith Carroll led the devotion with a reading of “The Gift of Friendship,” taken from the book “Loving Promises” by Helen Steiner Rice. The group sang “The More We Get Together,” and Carroll read the “Garden Club Prayer.”

Following the devotion, Barbara Carroll, club president, conducted the business session. Vivian Bullock gave the Daisette Youth report. The group discussed plans for spring planting projects.

For the program, Shyvonne Foster provided a demonstration on making and using centerpiece floating arrangements. For each of her arrangements, she used clear glass vases with rocks in the bottom. In one arrangement, purple orchids were submerged in water and tea candles were placed at the top of the vase. In another, daffodils were used.

Edith Carroll also conducted quizzes on the club’s history using the names of trees and various plants.

Club members sang “Happy Birthday” to club member Vivian Bullock.

Edith Hare blessed the food. Bullock thanked the hostess.
